About Catherine

Catherine Yuckin is sitting on a couch and holding a small dog. There are two other dogs resting on the back of the couch beneath a large window.

Catherine Yuckin is a belonging strategist and writer. She holds a Master of Arts in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation from the University of Alberta, which is a very academic way of saying she has spent a long time thinking about why sports matter.

Originally from Vancouver Island and based in Calgary, she believes sports are among the most impactful ways to build strong community bonds. She is firm in the fact that belonging is something built, not something that is “fostered”, and that an ordinary Tuesday night at the game has everything needed for pure magic.

She is known for creating the Belonging Ecosystem, the Experience Platform, and engineering wonder moments, and for her dedication to dissecting social dynamics to understand how we take emotional energy and turn it into the home team advantage.

When she is not working, you can find her with her three dogs, Ghost, Beau, and Bennie.
